We started at dawn, when Marlie and Jordy set their little one on a picnic blanket at the place where the sand meets the forest.
Kahana Bay was beautiful that soft morning.
Waves lapped the land nearby,
doused the tips of Marlie's train-
mixing with the earth, a sacred land.
Soon the sun shown over the mountain range, kissing the peaks across the water.
There, frolicking in the new light,
we played with haze,
vowing a renewed love.
